Dr. Monica Zembere

Monica Zembere DR is a lecturer in the faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Bindura university of Science Education in Zimbabwe. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Education Policy from Stellenbosch University- South Africa. Her Masters from the University of Zimbabwe is in Curriculum and Arts majoring in History. Dr Monica Matavire Zembere joined Bindura University of Education in 2009 as a lecturer in the faculty of Education. She taught Educational Psychology and History of Education until 2012 when a new department of Peace and Governance was created. Since then, Dr Zembere Monica has been lecturing in courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She teaches Citizenship Education and Conflict Transformation, Peace Education and Development. At Masters level she teaches courses in International Relations. She has written and presented papers at international conferences centering on democracy and human rights and social issues. She has 16 journal publications and 4 book chapters to her credit.  She has presented papers at both local and international conferences. Her area of research interests include Democratic  Citizenship Education, Teacher education, Constitutions and education, decoloniality and social issues emanating from policy and conflicts.
