Speaking after the event, BUSE National Sports Academy administrator Russell Chimhare expressed delight in the team’s performance.

“The ladies have been showing remarkable progress over the last couple of seasons and we are happy with their growth and development. Moffat is a zero handicap and his involvement with the ladies is helping them develop. We hope that soon they will turn Pro and represent Zimbabwe at international professional tournaments,” said a delighted Chimhare.

Tracy, a 6 handicap, was pleased with her overall performance but highlighted that she will only improve as the season progresses

“We are focusing our training on the Zimbabwe University Sports Association (ZUSA) games which will be held soon. Last year we won silver but this year we are aiming for gold. We have what it takes and we are putting in the work,” said Tracy.

She added:

“Playing and winning at such tournaments helps us assess where we are in our preps. Winning is a bonus.”

Tracy, Tarina, and Danai are part of the University’s National Sports Academy which Government tasked to identify and nurture talent in all sporting disciplines. The Academy has been performing well with a number of its athletes excelling on the world stage and setting national records.
