Welcome to the Procurement Management Unit (PMU) of BUSE
The Procurement Management Unit (PMU) serves as the dedicated center of excellence for all procurement-related matters at the University. Situated within the Vice Chancellor’s office, the department is established in accordance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets (PPDPA) Act [Chapter 22:23].
The PMU is committed to maximizing value for money through efficient procurement processes. It plays a vital role in supporting the University’s mission as they strive to achieve the Education 5.0 objectives by procuring the necessary resources required for: teaching, research, community service, innovation, and industrialization.

Objectives
The PMU ensures all proceedings align with Section 4 of the PPDPA Act to achieve the following:
- Transparency and Fairness: Effecting procurement in a manner that is honest, cost-effective, and competitive.
- Market Competition: Promoting active competition among bidders.
- Equitable Treatment: Treating all bidders fairly to secure contracts that represent good value.
- Integrity: Maintaining public confidence in the integrity of the procurement process.
- Policy Implementation: Securing the implementation of environmental, social, and economic policies required by law
