Beit Trust Grant Award

Bindura University of Science Education is re-launching the evening school for Advanced level STEM following receipt of the Beit Trust Grant on 26 June 2023, amounting to £28000.00. This grant will enable the refurbishment and furnishing of an allocated section of the Bindura University of Science Education library.  The refurbishment will create room for a mini library, two offices and two seminar rooms for use for learning and counselling services by evening school STEM secondary school students.

Beneficiaries of the project will be A-level STEM students as well as the university at large. The establishment of two seminar rooms, two offices and a mini library for the A Level secondary school students will help them use state-of-the-art facilities for both learning and research under the guidance of highly qualified university lecturers. Such an environment will assist the secondary school students perform well academically. BUSE Vice-Chancellor Professor Mwenje congratulated the grant application team which comprised of Dr Judith Mwenje (Principal Investigator), Dr Daimond Dziva, Dr Blessing Chiparausha, Dr Gracious Zinyeka and Prof Norman Rudhumbu.“Congratulations, you have done us proud. This grant will go a long way in solving some of our infrastructure requirements. This programme is going to solve the issue of low pass rates in STEM subjects and hopefully increase the intake in STEM programmes,” said Professor Mwenje.
