The Bindura University of Science Education National Sports Academy team continues to raise the University’s and nation’s flags high when they participated and scooped yet again more medals at the Gaborone International Meet 2019 Championships. The championships were held at the Gaborone National Sports Stadium in Botswana on 27th April 2019.The team brought home one gold, one silver and two bronze medals.The team was made up of Dickson Kapandura, Maryjoy Mudyiravanji, Norman Mukwada, Dorothy Kavumbura, Leon Tafirenyika and Kelvin Chiku.Norman Mukwada took part in the 4x100m and hauled a gold medal.He also came 4th overall in the 200m event. Maryjoy Mudyiravanji, the team captain won a bronze medal in the 1500m race and was presented with a US$400 prize in that premium event. Norman Mukwada participated again in the 4x100m relay together with Leon and, scooped a silver medal.The other participants were Dorothy Kavumbura and Chiku who won the bronze medal in the 4x100m race and, occupied the 5th position in the 800m respectively.The BUSE National Sports Academy team has become a household name in sports at both national and regional level due to their sporting prowess.The Gaborone International Meet championships were held barely a month after the team participated at the NASH and NAPH finals which were held at the Midlands Christian College in Gweru in March 2019.The team performed exceptionally well there and occupied the second (2nd) position overall after scooping thirteen (13) medals.The Vice Chancellor, Professor E. Mwenje and the entire university committee congratulate the BUSE National Sports Academy team together with their mentors, Mr T. Zvomuya, the National Sports Academy Director and Mr S.
