Dates: 17-21 August 2026
Venue: Main Campus, BUSE
Background and Rationale
Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE) is mandated to generate knowledge through research, advance innovation, and contribute meaningfully to Zimbabwe’s socio‑economic transformation. In line with this mandate, the University will host its 2026 Research & Innovation Week from 17 to 21 August 2026.
The Research & Innovation Week is an annual event that provides a platform for researchers, innovators, industry, policymakers, students, and development partners to showcase research outputs, exchange ideas, and strengthen collaboration. The event is premised on the understanding that research must transcend academic publication and translate into tangible solutions that address national development priorities.
The 2026 theme, “Innovating for Shared Prosperity: Accelerating Industrialisation, Rural Transformation, and Knowledge-Based Growth under NDS 2,” reflects the imperative to align research and innovation with Zimbabwe’s development agenda, particularly the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS 2). The theme emphasizes translating scientific knowledge into technologies, policies, products, and practices that foster industrialisation, sustainability, job creation, and improved livelihoods.
