Bindura University of Science Education invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Registrar. The appointment is a senior fixed-term contract with performance-based renewal. This position requires a dynamic, self-motivated, innovative, mature, and hardworking individual to spearhead a fast-growing and trailblazing institution.
Reporting to the Vice Chancellor, the Registrar serves as the Chief Operations Officer of the University. The role entails leading and coordinating University Administration and developing policies and organizational systems in line with the institution’s Strategic Plan and the Bindura University of Science Education Act (Chapter 25:22). This Executive position requires a competent, strategic, and focused individual with an understanding of the role of universities in development, and in particular advancing Zimbabwe’s Heritage based Education 5.0 and Vision 2030.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of a Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant discipline. A Master of Business Administration, an Educational Administration Degree, or a related qualification would be an added advantage.
- At least five (5) years of managerial experience in a senior administrative role within an educational institution.
- Proven record of successful supervisory experience in a people or student-oriented environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide advisory support to the Vice Chancellor, the University Council, Senate, and other Committees of the University on matters of corporate governance and interpretation of Statutes and Ordinances;
- Formulation, development, and implementation of the University administration policies, rules, and regulations at different levels in pursuit of the University’s Vision, Mission, and Strategic objectives towards actualization of the Heritage-Based Education 5.0 philosophy;
- Serve as the custodian of the University Seal and its usage, all academic records for students and programme regulations, safeguarding their integrity and accuracy;
- Ensure effective operation and management of Academic Affairs, Human Resources, Legal Affairs, and Student Affairs (student enrolment, development, and success)
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Government Ministries, external aid agencies, and other organizations and stakeholders;
- Provide support for the delivery of University programmes and projects;
- Provide secretariat services to the University Council, its Executive Committee, Senate, and oversee the administration of Council activities and
- Performing any other duties and functions of the University as assigned by the Vice Chancellor.

- The ideal candidate should be proficient at preparing high-quality reports and minutes and should demonstrate strong change-management competencies, excellent communication, and a steadfast commitment to meeting the institution’s demanding administrative requirements.
