BUSE Debate Union Storms Finals

News

The Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE) Debate Union is making waves on the competitive speech circuit! This past weekend, the team stormed into the finals of the Futuristic Mindset Initiative Debate and Public Speaking Competition. This impressive showing is the debaters’ first step in a busy season.

The union is now setting its sights on the upcoming Easters Debate tournament in Bulawayo. Preparations are already underway to ensure another strong performance. But that’s not all – the BUSE Debate Union is also gearing up for this year’s ZITF Scholastica competition.

Adding to the excitement is the news of a powerful partnership.

Charlene Mushayi, recognised as the best debater in 2023,  has joined forces with Raymond Nyasha Moyo to form a formidable partnership. This duo promises to be a force to be reckoned with in future tournaments.

Charlene had this to say:

“I’m so excited to be part of such a talented team. The Easters Debate and ZITF Scholastica will be amazing challenges and I can’t wait to work alongside Raymond and everyone else in the BUSE Debate Union.”

Charlene extended the team’s gratitude to Mr. Wellington Bakaimani, Director of SIYA, for his dedication and expertise as a judge during the recent tournament. She said his feedback was invaluable to the team. With a string of successes under the debate team’s belt, the future of the BUSE Debate Union looks set for a season filled with intellectual challenges and exceptional oratory skills.
