Qualifications and Experience
- Applicants should have a National Diploma in Engineering or its equivalent;
- A National Certificate in Machine Shop Engineering;
- Skilled worker Class one (1) in Fitting including Machining or Turning including machining is a requirement;
- At least five (5) ‘O’ levels including English, Maths and Science;
- A Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering would be an added advantage;
- Experience in a training environment in industry, VTCs or Tertiary institutions would be an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Working knowledge of CAD softwares;
- Training engineering students in the use of workshop equipment and tools, such as lathe machines, milling machines etc;
- Designing, Manufacturing, repairing, developing, constructing, modifying and commissioning of equivalent and models using a full range of conventional machines, CNC machine, tools and bench fitting equipment;
- Operating and maintaining of the plant, equipment and machinery;
- Creating budgets, ordering of miscellaneous materials parts and consumables and maintenance of adequate stock levels;
- Organising educational industrial visits for the department;
- Supervising technical assistants in the mechanical workshop.
