Vice Chancellor sustains the Fight against COVID19

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Eddie Mwenje recently presented more sanitisers to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) and the Provincial COVID19 Committee. He said this was the University’s humble way of sustaining the deadly fight against the deadly pandemic. The donations were presented on the 7th May 2020 at Astra Campus.
BUSE is producing sanitisers and face masks which are mainly going to Natpharm for national distribution. Natpharm is a government pharmaceutical company responsible for supplying drugs to health institutions throughout the country.
Tens of thousands of litres of saniters and face masks have been produced and distributed. Private companies and individuals can also access these at the Town Campus. Police manning urban roadblocks have also been receiving some of their PPE supplies from the University.
Assistant Commissioner Ndou of the Zimbabwe Republic Police, Mashonaland Central Province Command, who was representing his commander Commissioner Mahoya, thanked the University for the Donation. He said the fight against COVID19 was a national responsibility and all institutions had a role to play. Unity was required for the fight to succeed.
