Qualifications and Experience

 Post 1

  • Applicants should hold a Master of Science Degree in Natural Resources Management or related field and;
  • A first degree in Natural Resources passed with at least an upper-second (2.1) class;
  • A PhD in Natural Resources Management would be an added advantage;
  • Applicants must have a minimum of two (2) years of tertiary teaching or relevant industrial experience;
  • Proven record of publications and ability to mobilise funds will be added advantages;
  • The curriculum vitae (CV) should contain detailed list of publications; clearly specifying titles of publications, journal names, volumes, page number details, dates published, name(s) of publishers and names(s) of co-authors if any;
  • Publications should be categorized into: books, monographs, refereed and non-refereed journals, chapters in books, etc.

Post 2

  • Applicants should hold a Master of Science Degree in Wildlife Science or related field and;
  • A first degree in Wildlife Science passed with at least an upper-second (2.1) class;
  • A PhD in Wildlife Science or a related field would be an added advantage;
  • Applicants must have a minimum of two (2) years of tertiary teaching or relevant industrial experience;
  • Proven record of publications and ability to mobilise funds will be added advantages;
  • The curriculum vitae (CV) should contain detailed list of publications; clearly specifying titles of publications, journal names, volumes, page number details, dates published, name(s) of publishers and names(s) of co-authors if any;
  • Publications should be categorized into: books, monographs, refereed and non-refereed journals, chapters in books, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Applicants must be able to teach at least five (5) courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level to both conventional and block students.

Courses for Post 1: Natural Resources Management, Nature-based Entrepreneurship, Land Management and Conservation, Risk and Disaster Management, Meteorology and Climate Change.

 

Courses for Post 2: Herpetology, Ichthyology, Ornithology and Mammalogy, Wildlife Pathology and Parasitology, Wildlife Study Techniques and Technologies and Wildlife Development Biology.

The Department reserves the right to allocate courses for teaching.

  • The successful candidate will be expected to provide academic leadership to the Department, initiate, guide and contribute to basic and applied research in the Department;
  • To contribute to the achievement of Education 5.0 by the Department through University teaching, research, community engagement, innovation and industrialisation;
  • To supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students in their fields of specialization;
