Technician – Crop Science Department (1 Post)

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of 5 ‘O’ levels including English Language, Mathematics and Science. Diploma in Agriculture and two (2) years working experience working in the University environment will be an added advantage. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chairperson but will also be part of broad technical team, ensuring effective day to day operations of the field.

Duties and Responsibilities
The duties shall include: preparing, Arranging and conducting of field practicals for students; assisting lecturers and students in carrying out researches projects and trials; participating in departmental income generating projects in the Teaching, research and Learning Unit at the Farm; organising and accompanying both diploma and undergraduate students on educational tours; procurement of tools and equipment for the department; maintaining an up-to date inventory of the departmental equipment and agro-chemicals; assisting in the preparation of departmental projects budgets; servicing and maintaining departmental tool and equipment; any other duties assigned by the Chairperson with the Dean’s approval.
