Call for Participation – Gender Inclusive Research & Innovation (GinRI)

Call for Participation Gender Inclusive Research & Innovation (GinRI)  – Deadline – 20 January 2023

Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE) Training Series on Research and innovation.

In 2018, the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development (MHTISTD) introduced an Education 5.0 framework which directs higher and tertiary institutions to educate all for innovation and industrialisation. This has seen university innovation hubs being constructed at several institutions as a vehicle to promote research, innovation, and industrialisation.

Research has shown that gender inclusivity has the potential to drive research and innovation with an ultimate economic development and sustainability impact through tapping from diversity.

In the current work, we invite you to participate in an in-person capacity building for BUSE female academics on research and innovation for industrialization. This initiative has been prompted by the gender profiling of scientific publications and intellectual property (IP) output at the University that shows a gross authorship and innovation gender divide in favour of male academics. Our training series therefore seeks to capacitate females at BUSE so that they acquire and/or improve their research and innovation competencies in line with the dictates of Education 5.0. BUSE female academics are therefore being invited to register to participate. There is no registration fee. But all participants must register. There is a possibility that coming up with prototypes for patenting.
