The Vice Chancellor, Professor Eddie Mwenje won the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) Business Leadership (runner-up) award on 27 June 2019. The awards ceremony was held in Victoria Falls.
The recognition came in the wake of the University and the Vice Chancellor having been honoured successively by ZNCC in March this year. The Vice Chancellor was awarded the ZNCC Northern Region award and this current accolade is the national version of the same award. He also scooped the Megafest Vice Chancellor of the Year award in early March 2019.
According to the award citation, the Business Leadership accolade recognises business leaders for outstanding performance. These significant accomplishments infrastructure developments, new innovations, major acquisitions and community engagements, among other major milestones.
In his acceptance speech, Professor Mwenje felt the award was a result of team effort. He thanked his team for attaining recognition through their hard work. The university community congratulates him for scooping this prestigious award.
