He encouraged the Optometry students to work hard since Optometrists were in high demand in the country.

The Chairman of the Optometry department Dr C Mtuwa, staff and students all took turns to welcome the patients and examine their eyes. The patients were overjoyed as was evident on their faces as they left the clinic to return home. They praised the University for introducing programmes that are beneficial to the community.
