Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/ Professor: Sports Science and Sports Management (3 Posts)

Qualifications:
Applicants should hold a PhD Degree, Masters Degree and First Degree in Sports Science or Sports Management. Holders of relevant Masters Degrees who are currently studying towards PhD qualifications in a Sports-related learning area shall be considered for employment on a Temporary Full Time Basis.

Experience:
Applicants must have working experience at Tertiary Institution level as a Lecturer or Teaching Assistant. A proven record of publications and ability to mobilize funds will be added advantages.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to teach and supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students in Sports Science or Sports Management and carry out collaborative research. The successful candidate should be able to teach at least three (3) of the following Sports Science or Sports Management courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level: Sports Science – Sport and Exercise Physiology; Biomechanics in Sport and Exercise, Biochemistry of Exercise, Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation; Sports Psychology; Performance Analysis and Coaching Technologies in Sport, Theory and Methodology of Sports Training, Testing, Measurement and Evaluation in Sport and Sport Nutrition; or Sports Management – Corporate Governance in Sport, Human Resources Management in Sport, Financial Management in Sport, Sports Entrepreneurship, Sports Economics, Facilities and Event Management, Public and Media Relations in Sport, Sports Tourism and Recreation, Risk Management in Sport, Sports Marketing, Strategic Management in Sport and sociology of Sport. In addition the successful candidate will be required to supervise research projects. He or she must also be able to teach at least one Practical Module like: Athletics, Swimming, Football, Tennis, Table Tennis, Basketball, Volleyball, Netball, Rugby, Cricket, Hockey and actively participate in Research and University Extension Services and link the Department with relevant professional organizations.
