Applicants should hold a PhD or be at an advanced stage towards the attainment of a PhD in Wildlife Science or related field. A Master’s degree in Wildlife Science or related field with at least a Merit and a first degree in Wildlife Science with at least an upper-second class are a must. The candidates, should be able to teach the following undergraduates courses; Herpetology, Ichthyology, Ornithology, Mammalogy, Wildlife Pathology, and Parasitology, Wildlife Study Techniques and Technologies and Wildlife Development Biology and at least two of these at postgraduate level.
Applicants must have a minimum of two years of tertiary teaching experience. Proven record of publications and ability to mobilise funds will be added advantages. The Curriculum Vitae (CV) should contain a detailed list of publications; clearly specifying titles of publications, journal names, volumes, page number details, dates published into; books, monographs, refereed and non-refereed journals, chapters in books etc.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide academic leadership to the Department, initiate, guide and contribute to basic and applied research in the Department. Successful applicants must be able to supervise Research Projects for both undergraduate and postgraduate students in their fields of specialisation and conduct collaborative research and be involved in university and community engagement.
