FIELD TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (1 POST)
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should be holder of a Certificate in Agriculture/Animal Health and Production. The incumbent must have a 5 “O” Levels including English Language, Mathematics and Science and at least one (1) year experience of working with animals at a tertiary educational institution or research station with traceable references. The successful candidate will work closely with the Field Technician ensuring effective day to day field operations and the smooth running of the Teaching and Learning Unit at the University Farm.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervision of workers at the Animal Science Teaching and Learning Unit;
- Inventory management;
- Assisting in doing practicals;
- Assisting academics and students in carrying out research projects;
- Facilitating students’ field trips in liaison with Departmental Chairpersons;
- Performing other related duties as assigned and
- Assisting with animal handling during field practicals.
