Course Overview
The Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Network Engineering enables students to develop and apply a range of analytical techniques and problem-solving skills to real-world computer networking scenarios. Students build their professional capabilities independently and as part of a team in a systematic practical manner. These capabilities are applicable to a wide range of professional roles within computer engineering.
This programme is designed to enable students to acquire the technical understanding of computer networking, wireless and advanced network technologies, artificial intelligence design, data communications, mobile computing, and multimedia technologies, while also learning their relevance to industry and commerce.
Through this degree, the students will be able to develop their independent thinking and flexibility within computer networking, mobile applications programming and the communication sector of computing. The students will specialize in computer networks, modern networks, networking planning and programming, as well as mobile computing.
The programme is accredited with the Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education (ZIMCHE). Our graduates have gone on to work in Network Engineering jobs such as:

Entry Requirements:

All applicants have to meet the following minimum requirements for admission prescribed under the general regulations (i.e.):

For all entry pathways candidates must have at least five ‘O’ Level subjects/ National Foundation Certificates including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject at grade C or better.

• Normal Entry: A minimum of two ‘A’ Level passes in either Mathematics, Computer Science/Computing and any one of the following subjects Physics, Accounting, Economics, Management of Business/Business Studies, Biology, Chemistry or any other relevant subject, and
• Special Entry: Special entry may be granted to applicants with a National Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology or any related field from a recognized institution.
• Mature Entry: Should be at least 23 years old AND have at least 2 years’ relevant industrial experience

• The Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Network Engineering Programme will extend over a period of four years of full time study, each year of study comprising two semesters.
• Taught Courses shall be offered during the first two years and the final year of study while the third academic year shall be reserved for Industrial Attachment.
• Students shall do final Research Projects in Network Engineering.
