Bindura University of Science Education-University of Aix Marseille Memorandum of Understanding

Objectives of the MOU
The partnership under the umbrella of the “Erasmus Mundus STETTIN Project” aimed to:

  • To contribute to mutual enrichment of societies be developing the qualifications of men and women so that they possess the appropriate skills, particularly with regard to the labour market, and that they have an open mind and international experience .
  •  To promote the mobility of students, researchers, teachers and administrative staff from third countries- particularly those from vulnerable groups – selected on the basis of their academic excellence, in order that they can obtain the qualifications and/ or experience in Europe;
  •  To contribute to the development of human resources and the capacity of international cooperation of higher education institutions in third countries through the increased mobility between Europe and these countries, based on the principles of equal opportunity of non-discrimination.

Impact of the Partnership.
1. Four Zimbabweans graduated with a Master’s Degree in Science Education in 2015 under the Erasmus Mundus Project
2. One student is expected to graduate with a PhD in science Education by August 2017

 

Bindura University of Science Education-University of Mauritius Memorandum of Understanding
Date of incorporation: 27 October 2016

Objectives of the MOU:
1. Develop capacity in the field of ICT in Education and the Knowledge Society
2. Impart 21st century Teaching and Learning skills in Educators, Academics and Course Designers
3. Co-offer an MSc Educational Technologies and Knowledge Society degree with the University of Mauritius.

Expected Impact of the Partnership
At least 400 teachers in the region would be recruited and admitted to the MSc Educational Technologies and Knowledge Society degree annually for the next ten years. The programme would prepare teachers to facilitate online learning effectively

Bindura University of Science- Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Memorandum of Understanding
Date of incorporation: 24 July 2014

Objectives of the MOU:
1. Upgrade the qualifications and skills of Science and Mathematics under the Teacher Capacity Development Programme which was launched by the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Cde R.G. Mugabe on 24 July 2014 under the theme “Quality teachers in a growing economy”. The upgraded teachers are expected to teach the STEM disciplines effectively.
2. Diplomas in Science Education holder are upgraded to Bachelors in Science degree in Science Education.
3. Bachelors in Science Education are upgraded to and Master of Science degree in Science Education qualifications
4. Teachers without a teaching qualification study for a Post Graduate Diploma in Education in which they are expected to acquire pedagogical skills and knowledge for effective teaching of the STEM disciplines.

Expected Impact of the Partnership
1. At least 460 teachers would graduate with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Science Education by December 2017
2. At least 250 teachers would graduate with a Masters in Science in Science Education by December 2017
3. At least 100 teachers would graduate with a Post Graduate Diploma in Science Education by December 2017
