Executive Dean’s Commendation Message
I congratulate you all our valued students for excelling in the August to December 2021 semester examinations. I am aware that you attained four (4) to six (6) distinctions after writing six courses on average.
I am proud of you and I am aware that the excellent performances that we are celebrating today are a result of hard work, discipline and perseverance from you. Zimbabwe needs people who exhibit high these desirable attributes in order to develop.
Besides the prestige of being recognised at faculty level, at a personal level you stand better chances of securing scholarships for postgraduate studies, obtaining places for graduate traineeship and Teaching Assistantship. If you continue working hard and graduate with distinctions you will be more employable than your counterparts because industry prefers high performing and innovative employees.
I challenge you to embrace innovation in your daily life. The University has a Vice Chancellor’s Innovation and Creativity Fund that is at the disposal of all students with innovative ideas that can improve people’s quality of life. It is young people like you whom we look up to for new ideas and the University is ready to help you develop and nature innovations. I therefore, invite you to bring forward innovative ideas to prospective mentors so that they are developed.
Once more, I congratulate you for this excellent performance and I urge you to continue working hard so that eventually you graduate with distinctions.
