Bindura University of Science Education Vice Chancellor, Professor Eddie Mwenje was inoculated with the COVID-19 Sinovac vaccination on 23 April 2021 at the University’s Main Campus. The vaccination programme which was conducted by the Mashonaland Central Province Ministry of Health and Child Care also saw seventy (70) members of staff receiving the same jab as well.
The vaccination programme which was well received by University staff saw executives, directors, academic and academic support staff getting inoculated in the first phase of the BUSE COVID-19 Vaccination programme. The second phase is expected to be carried out towards the end of the following month.
Speaking on the side-lines of the vaccination programme, Professor Mwenje encouraged members of staff to be vaccinated against this deadly pandemic.
A number of University staff were enthused by the positive move taken by the Vice Chancellor such that those who hesitated at first changed their minds and happily received their jabs.
According to an online media publication, Nhau Group; the Mashonaland Central Province COVID-19 Update – the cumulative cases recorded stood at 1728 with 1630 recoveries, 9 active cases and 89 deaths as at 29 April 2021.
