The University participated at the 2019 edition of the Mazowe Valley Agricultural Show.  The highly subscribed four day event was held on 31st July  to 3rd August 2019 at the Mazowe Valley Show grounds in Bindura under the theme ‘Agriculture as a collective adventure’.

As usual, Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE) was part of the active participants at the annual showcase.  The event brings together exhibitors from various sectors of the economy including those from agriculture, manufacturing, and the service sector under which BUSE belongs.

The BUSE showcase comprised of various faculties, National Sports Academy, Printing Press, Farm and project banners, fliers, and tangible projects, all aesthetically displayed inside the stand.  Staff drawn from across faculties and departments made up the complement that represented the University.  Of note were the piggery, nursery, and the Smart Connect projects.  These resonated so well with the show’s theme such that the University inevitably got adjudged 1st position in the Education Sector for the third year running.

The 3rd August 2019 marked the showcase’s busiest day as it was a public day.  Patrons were seen lining up by the show grounds’ two entrances jostling their way in.  By as early as nine in the morning, the place had become a hive of activity with clients of all ages visiting the BUSE stand.  Staff were inundated with enquiries from show goers as the kids simply could not resist watching live adolescent pigs as close range.

The show ended on an eventful note as the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs, Cde M Mavhunga graced the occasion by visiting the BUSE stand as part of her stand visit routine before officially opening the event.  To cap the icing on the cake, the Minister presented the University with a shield for obtaining the 1st position in its category.
