The University donated text books worthy USD$10k to Gwangwava High School on 27th September 2019. The handover ceremony was done at the school’s Prize Giving Day.

The donated books covered different areas namely chemistry, biology, physics, mathematics, economics, accounting, agriculture, statistics, business studies, marketing, history and literature.

Handing over the books to the school, the Vice Chancellor Professor E. Mwenje said the donation would help the school have something to start its new library with.

Professor Mwenje added that the school was free to approach the University for any form of help.

“Our support to the school is not in words. Our doors are open for advice – for any help you may want. When your laboratories come through, we want to help you in that area,” said Professor Mwenje.

In his acceptance speech, the Gwangwava School head, Mr F. Musasa thanked the Vice Chancellor and the University for extending a helping hand to the school. He said the donation had come at a time when the school was in dire need of textbooks for the students as well as the school library. Gwangwava High is a school located in Rushinga District.
