BUSE Alumnus exhibit personal brands at ZITF

ZITF presented a glimpse of what Bindura University of Science Education strives to achieve in its graduates. The University’s mission statement reads, “To produce responsible, knowledgeable, skilled, innovative and entrepreneurial graduates through teaching, research innovation; and develop products and services for industrialisation and community transformation.”

Sarudzai Tafiranyika, BUSE alumni of 2013 personified this endeavor by showcasing her company’s skin care products at the just ended Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) held in Bulawayo in April.

Having completed her Marketing degree in 2013, she founded her company, Covenant Brands in 2018 which manufactures organic skin care products which were deemed safe for use after excelling in clinical trials.

She is heavily involved in the production process and uses her Marketing degree to brand and market her products.

Although the business is thriving, the energetic businesswoman has described the journey as challenging but strengthening as it has empowered her to be strong and confident enough to compete against the industry’s heavyweights.

“Success requires hard work and being a woman in business requires extra effort and am glad to serve as an inspiration to other young women thus showing our prowess to compete with anyone in society,” said Sarudzai.

Buoyed by the positive response to her product at the ZITF, Sarudzai hopes to expand her market share by engaging traditional and upcoming skin care manufacturing and forming strategic partnerships.

As BUSE is also in the skin care manufacturing business, a possible mutually beneficial partnership may be formed between the alumnus and her alma mater.

The University is renowned internationally for producing transformative and innovative graduates. Many BUSE alumni have become successful captains of industry, entrepreneurs and have greatly impacted society.

Sarudzai’s successful exhibition at the ZITF is just but the cherry on top.
