Assistant Registrar/ Senior Assistant Registrar – Records Management (1 Post)

Qualifications and Experience:

Applicants must have:

  • A BSc (Hons) degree in Records and Archives Management or BSc in      Archaeology, Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies or BSc in Library and Information Science or Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History from a         recognised institution;
  • A Master’s degree in Records and Archives Management or Master of Science degree in Library and Information Science or Master of Arts in Cultural and   Heritage Studies or Master of Arts in Museum Studies or Master of Arts in          Archaeology Studies;
  • A minimum of four (4) years post qualification experience related to 

  management of records;

  • Experience in a University or related institution set up and be highly computer  

Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate is expected to:

  • Set up a functional Records Management Unit;
  • Craft University Records Policy and Standard Operating Procedures;
  • Monitor the creation, use, maintenance and archiving of University records;
  • Maintain the security of all University Records;
  • Liaise with all other University Units on records management and archiving Processes;
  • Induct and train records staff;
  • Compile Unit reports and budget requirements of the Unit;
  • Maintain a safe working environment;
  • Supervise operations in the Records Unit;
  • Supervise Junior staff in the Unit;
  • Be custodian of University records;
  • Execute any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
