2020 Graduation Ceremony Notice

Notice to All 2020 Graduands
The University would like to advise ALL 2020 Graduands that the 19th Graduation Ceremony will be held on Friday, 6 November 2020 at the Faculty of Science Education Complex starting at 0830 hours.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the graduation ceremony shall be held concurrently in two modes as follows:

The physical graduation ceremony shall be attended by those graduands who are graduating with an overall 1st class degree
at undergraduate, and distinction at postgraduate level, MPhil and DPhil ONLY.

The rest of the graduating students shall graduate virtually by following the graduation proceedings live away from Campus (in the comfort of their homes). The event shall be live streamed on Heart and Soul Television, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

Graduation Fees and Fees Arrears
Graduands are requested to pay a graduation fee top up of US$30.00, or its ZWL equivalent and any other unpaid fees by Thursday 5 November 2020.

NB Graduands intending to pay in local currency (ZWL) are encouraged to enquire with the University or bank on the formal prevailing exchange rate of the day.


Dress Code
Graduands attending the congregation must be wearing the correct regalia and appropriate personal attire. Men are expected to be in dark suits or dark jackets and trousers with white shirts and matching ties. Women are expected to be in dark suits or dark skirts/trousers with white blouses.

Those graduating virtually are also expected to be in their graduation attire as they follow the proceedings.


For those who will be graduating physically, Rehearsals will take place on Thursday, 5 November 2020 at the Faculty of Science Education Complex starting at 1400 hours. Graduands are advised this is COMPULSORY.

Invitation Cards
Please note that graduands graduating physically may bring only one guest and invitation cards will be available for collection on rehearsal day.
