Barrett’s esophagus was eliminated in less than 5% of 499 patients undergoing surgery in a large series in the 1987s mechanism of action of sildenafil (viagra). It is unlikely that medical therapy other than chemoprevention will do so, if the elimination of all refluxate by successful fundoplication does not reverse Barrett’s esophagus and eliminate the risk of cancer. The estimated decrease in the area of Barrett’s esophagus over an interval of 3 years is mechanism of action of sildenafil (viagra) only 8%, even if esophageal acid exposure is nearly eliminated. 8. Does Barrett’s esophagus reverse with surgical therapy?.
